The SmarterMeasure Learning Readiness Indicator is an assessment that measures levels of non-cognitive indicators of student success. It is used to help students go into the learning experience with their “eyes wide open” about their traits, attributes, availability and skills. There are seven sections to the assessment. Schools may provide all seven sections to their students or opt-out of some sections if they choose. The seven sections are Life Factors, Individual Attributes, Reading Rate & Recall, Technical Competency, Technical Knowledge, Keyboarding and Learning Styles.
Schools may identify one or more places in the student experience at which the assessment is positioned. Common placements included during enrollment, an orientation course or at some other point typically early in the student’s learning experience at the school.
This document provides institutions who are new to using the assessment with multiple ideas for how you can implement, customize, and leverage the data from SmarterMeasure. The suggestions are provided using the following structure: Implement, Analyze, Discuss, Leverage, Customize, Learn, Ask, Research, Join, Publish, Record, Improve, Integrate, Promote, Train, and Refer.
